ABOUT

Metodo Milano is an Unconventional Visual Art Space open to sharing and experimenting in contemporary artist practices. Its name is inspired by construction techniques for urban galleries. The space, a real tunnel that connects two streets is located inside a garage. Artists from national and International territory are invited to create works born in close contact with a space with a strong character. The idea stems from a need of the artist Maurizio Bongiovanni to create a meeting point in the city of Milan. The space is happy to evaluate artistic projects and collaboration.

    PODCAST

Metodo Milano lands on the most popular podcast platforms to document a series of encounters between artists and very different figures, talking about the nowadays with their eyes and their experiences.
The podcast is an indefinite space between pause and movement, between blindness and vision, between stop and transit, like our dear tunnel.

    CHRISTINE
    A project by Marta Pierobon

“Now get the hell out of here, we’re closed!” ‘You know, you better find yourself some
other charity besides me and Christine.
What is it about that car? I don’t know. Maybe its just that for the first time. I’ve found something uglier than me. And I know I can fix her up. “E tu saresti uno che sa che cosa fa... e scemo. “ - I really... respect her mind. She lusts after my body. What can I say? Fuck you. “Look what she's doing to that pencil.
I wish I was an eraser.” “Vuoi dare una mano al tuo amico a farlo buttar fuori”-“no”- “allora chiudi il becco, io gli stronzi li capisco al volo e ora capisco che ne ho davanti uno.“ - No, no don’t! -What? You don’t like me slapping your girl? "Forever my darling our love will be true. Always and forever I'll love only you. Just promise me darling your love in return. May this fire in my soul dear forever burn".

    Mistici, Sensuali, Contemplativi

    MISTICI, SENSUALI, CONTEMPLATIVI
    Curated by Nicola Nitido

Quoting a work of the painter Carlo Carrà, Metodo Milano wants to give tribute to this great example of freedom, to the possibility of rethinking ourselves. Sometimes by changing direction abruptly. reversing the terms of the speech, it is directly proportional to the urgency of exhibiting a certain pictorial research, tangible in the practice of the artists presented here.

    Rubedodoom

    RUBEDODOOM
    by Valerio Veneruso

In the alchemical tradition, the Rubedo indicates the latest phase of the Great Work, that moment in which the solid matter is completely transmuted by identifying itself to full with spirit: it’s time for the awareness, of openness to life, of the tolerance and acceptance; its color is red, its natural element is fire and the Phoenix the main symbol (as a creature capable of reborn from its own ashes). In addition to the numerous references that it encloses, the Rubedo represent also a brief stage of grace that determines the closing a circle.

    Flash

    FLASH
    Curated by Beatrice Meoni

Flash is an exhibition for Metodo Milano, an Unconventional Artist run Space. Metodo is a tunnel, a 20mt gallery that runs between a parking space to a road communicating a stopping place to one of transit, that closes its circulation for an evening to host art projects. This exhibition began from an initial invitation given to Beatrice Meoni by Maurizio Bongiovanni. Flash, was then born from a constructive exchange between Meoni and Michele Tocca. This was extended to a group of painters with the idea of meeting for just one evening to share the underground gallery, and to show each one’s way of relating to the vision of darkness and time.
It's the darkness that passes in a blink of an eye that links an  inner vision to an external one. A black space in which the tension between vision and blindness shows a path in time, a process but also each one’s  personal position towards painting.

    Sette Bambine e Sette Bambini

    SETTE BAMBINE E SETTE BAMBINI
    by Luigi Antonio Presicce

Androgyus was killed. Minosse, king of Crete, established that the Athenians who killed his son, each year gave him seven young men and seven maidens. These children were sacrificed, given to the Minotaur, stepson of Minos, half man and  half bull forever locked in the labyrinth of Daedalus.

The artist continues his interest not towards the myth, but towards the symbol of the bull for the American economy and therefore for the world. Infact, Presicce has recently completed a period of residency at the Artist Alliance inc studio program in New York where he created a performance entitled The birth of Minotaur.
The intentions of the performance were evidently turned towards what today has become the image of the bull for Wall Street and the consequent fall-out of this imaginary in the real exasperated economic drift of the art world.

    Rare & Unreleased

    RARE & UNRELEASED
    by Enne Boi

These are works "in captivity" that the artist has decided to keep for himself, keeping them in the darkness of a garage; that dark and stale atmosphere has become their forced habitat over time. The unusual space of Metodo Milano - a tunnel - lends properly to exposing them for a few hours to prying eyes without distorting its essence. They are intimate and resonant paintings in which the artist confronts formality, without however renouncing the narrative tension that animates his work from the beginning.

    Ever Fallen

    EVER FALLEN
by Maurizio Bongiovanni and Andreas Mallouris

Ever Fallen is the first exhibition at Metodo Milano, a space that
evokes thoughts, feelings and modes of exploration.
A tunnel is a directional space, a space of transition, a space that draws you in and spits you out, a space of emotions and perception. Two ends, two endings, two artists.
